Ateneo, nakamit ang kauna-unahang Filoil Preseason Cup title mula 2011

Tinalo ng Ateneo ang defending champion na San Beda sa Filoil Preseason Cup sa iskor na 76-62 sa kanilang championship game kahapon sa Filoil Flying V Centre sa San Juan.

Dahil dito, nakamit ng Ateneo ang kanilang kauna-unahang titulo sa torneo mula taong 2011.

Hindi natalo ang Blue Eagles sa loob ng 12 laban patungong championship game.

Nanguna para sa Ateneo si Tournament MVP Angelo Kouame sa kanyang 15 points, 16 rebounds at three blocks.

Ayon kay Ateneo assistant coach Sandy Arespacochaga, ang panalong ito ay hindi maikakailang dahil sa kanyang mga manlalaro na hindi nakapagsanay matapos ang tatlong araw na sunud-sunod na laro mula ng dumating sa kanilang training camp sa Greece.

Samantala, ayon kay San Beda coach Boyet Fernandez, ang kanilang pagkatalo sa Ateneo ay magsisilbing aral para sa kanilang paghahanda naman sa NCAA.
