Imbestigasyon ng BIR sa tax filing ni Sereno hindi bahagi ng persecution ng Duterte admin

Pumalag ang Palasyo ng Malacañan sa alegasyon ni dating Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno na bahagi lamang ng harassment ang ginagawang imbestigasyon ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) kaugnay sa kanyang tax filing.

Ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, sa halip na magtuturo si Sereno ay mas makabubuting pagtuunan na lamang ng pansin kung pagtitibayin ng kanyang mga kasamahang mahistrado ang naunang desisyon na nagpapatalsik sa kanya sa puwesto sa pamamagitan ng quo warranto petition dahil sa hindi tamang pagdedeklara ng statement of assets liabilities and networth (SALN).

Sinabi pa ni Roque na hindi bahagi ng persecution ng Duterte administration ang ginagawang imbestigasyon ng BIR laban kay Sereno.

May proseso aniya sa Pilipinas kung kaya mas makabubuting tumalima na lamang si Sereno.

Pahayag pa ng Palasyo kay Sereno, ‘We wish her the best.’

“For now, I think she should worry whether her own colleagues will uphold their ruling against her. We have a process and we should follow the process. We wish her the best,” ayon kay Roque.
