Teen Electrocuted to Death after She Used Her Phone While it Was Still Charging

Many people’s lives revolve around their gadgets nowadays. But who can blame them? We can practically do anything and everything with our phones, and sometimes, losing them or forgetting about them at home can ruin our entire day. Ultimately, our phones need charging—and it is the best time to leave your gadgets alone.

However, it was too late for 17-year-old Luiza Pinheiro, from Riacho Frio. The teen from Brazil was reportedly electrocuted after she used her phone while it was still charging. Though her family was able to bring her to the hospital, doctors could no longer save her.


According to reports, Luiza was found on the floor of her home at about 5pm on Sunday afternoon, with her headphones “melted” into her ears. According to the rescue team that responded, the teen’s phone was destroyed with a “huge electric charge”, but the authorities have not made a statement on how the girl was electrocuted.

A hospital spokesman told local media: “The girl’s grandmother told the doctor that they found her granddaughter unconscious, lying on the floor and with headphones in her ears.

“They said they believe that the young woman had an electric shock because the cell phone was charging and the phone was melted.”

He added: “It is stated in the medical record that the girl was admitted to the hospital one hour after the electric shock.

“The relatives said that the girl had received a shock, but the causes of death will still be confirmed.”
