Woman Dumps Chinese Man after Realizing His ‘Porsche’ was Actually a Knock-off Brand

She sent a picture of her boyfriend’s car to her friends, but was shocked when they told her it was actually a knock-off brand.

A woman, now dubbed a “gold-digger” met a man at a gathering party in China. They started talking to each other though the man didn’t talk much. He later learned that the woman lived close to his home, thus, he proposed to give her a ride in which she said yes. As the two were walking to the car, the lady quickly took notice of the man’s car. It’s Porsche Cayenne!

The woman, thinking she had hit the jackpot, was wooed by the man. In just a matter of two weeks, the couple went from a casual to an intimate relationship. The woman claimed that she was wooed by how the man was humble despite his obvious wealth as shown through his car.

 

The woman later took pictures of her man’s car and flaunted the pictures to her friends only to later find out that the car was actually a China knock-off brand called Zoyte. The friend told her the car only cost about 150,000 Yuan (approx. $23,500) whereas a real Porsche Cayenne would cost up to about 1,5000,000 Yuan in China.

The car industry in China is getting bigger by the day and the country’s leading car manufacturers are spreading their influence across the world through astute acquisitions of foreign brands and rapidly improving products. In the Chinese domestic market, however, it’s not unusual for cars to take inspiration for their improvements in a less official capacity.

A wander around any of the major Chinese Motor Shows such as those in Shanghai or Guangzhou will reveal cars made by obscure brands that still manage to spark a sense of déjà vu. These are the Chinese copycat cars.

Upon learning that she had been duped, she immediately dumped the guy. “At that time, I thought to myself that rich people are rarely humble. Because of his unique quality, I started to develop feelings for him,” the woman said. She then confronted her boyfriend and later broke up with him for embarrassing her in front of her friends.
