Teacher Slammed for Calling Her Student ‘Stupid’ after She Was Told She Lacked Teaching Skills

Apparently, the student criticized her for her lack of teaching skills. 

Parents entrust their children to teachers, believing they can protect and teach their children in their stead. Sadly, some teachers physically and verbally abuse students and often go unpunished. But there are laws that forbid teachers from harassing, teasing, and otherwise verbally or physically abusing kids, and it is always best to report teachers who refuse to abide by what they swore to do.

One teacher was heavily criticized on Facebook after she called one of her students “stupid”. According to the teacher, a student criticized her, saying she didn’t teach them well, hence, their bad grades. In retaliation, the teacher took it to social media and called the student “stupid”.

“Hindi daw ako magaling magturo? Hindi ba pwedeng bobo ka lang talaga? Sisihin mo pa ko.” she said on her Facebook post.

(They say I don’t teach well? isn’t it just because you’re stupid? Don’t blame me.)

While many of the teacher’s friends sided with her—with some even threatening to “hit” the student if they saw him/her—there was one netizen who expressed disgust over the teacher’s actions. Vivien Figuro, a teacher who followed the footsteps of her family of educators shared her discussion with her colleague. “That’s not the right attitude with a teaching profession should manifest. Just saying,” Vivien commented on Rox Xie’s Facebook post.


In her defense, Rox Xie stated that she got fed up with how her students would blame her lack in teaching skills for their low grades. However, Figuro told Rox Xie that as a professional teacher, she must at least have the decency to not post anything bad about her student on social media.

Rox Xie’s friends then began jumping into the debate, defending their friend while criticizing Figuro for her comments. However, Figuro didn’t appear to be intimidated and continued her debate even with Rox Xie’s entire squad ready to defend her.

Figuro told Rox Xie that her students’ criticisms should motivate her to be a better teacher instead.

In the end, Figuro explained that she only wanted her colleague to realize that calling her student ‘stupid’ is not right. Figuro soon “unfriended” Rox Xie, claiming the latter had always been like that when posting about her students and her job as a teacher.

As of this article’s writing, Rox Xie deactivated her Facebook account, while Figuro’s post has been taken down as well. However, many Facebook pages reposted the story, which has garnered thousands of views, shares, and reactions from netizens who lauded her for her bravery.
